This team has three teaching staff who assess newly arrived students and work on their development of language.  Accredited courses are delivered which enable the students to progress after school.
Students are helped with the wider curriculum to ensure greater achievement.  Advice is given to teachers to help them plan their work and raise awareness of cultural diversity.
Some students are able to study their home language to GCSE level, which again improves their qualifications and aids progression.
Strong links have been built up within the Ethnic communities to support the learning of the students, to explain about school procedures and to encourage and support the acquisition of language through adult classes within school.
