    Teamwork

As a high performing specialist school for the Arts and Sport, Mortimer Community College places a huge importance on achievement.  We believe every student can achieve their potential, as well as develop their expertise in an extensive range of subjects and extra-curricular activities.  In the last five years the number of students leaving with at least five good GCSEs has risen every year to the 84% figure achieved in 2009.  There is a wide and varied curriculum choice for students, with careful guidance given about the most appropriate pathway to choose when entering and leaving Key Stage 4.

All abilities are catered for at Mortimer Community College.  The least academically inclined can follow tailored vocational courses and a bespoke intervention programme exists for students who are struggling with their work, whilst the most academically able are given opportunities to sit GCSEs early, even in Year 9 and to even begin ‘A/S’ level courses before they leave school.
